GENRE DIVERSITY AND ARTISTIC FEATURES OF G. CHEDZHEMOV’S CREATIVITY

Abstract:
The name and work of the famous writer, poet, playwright, illustrator Geor Chedzhemov are
included in the fund of the treasury of Ossetian fiction. The purpose of the study is to analyze the main
trends in the development of Ossetian children’s literature based on the works of G. Chedzhemov, one
of the central and brightest figures in the history of Ossetian children’s literature of the second half
of the XX – early XXI centuries. The article examines the genre diversity of creativity, as well as the
features of the author’s artistic world, the connection with the folklore tradition, analyzes both his
prose and poetic works; the cognitive aspect of his work is understood in close connection with the
moral component. Based on the creative heritage of the author, the manifestation of intertextuality
in Ossetian children’s literature is traced for the first time. Many of Chedzhemov’s works (stories,
fairy tales, poems) are being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. Also, for the first
time, Chedzhemov’s translations included in textbooks on Ossetian literary reading are mentioned
and considered: “Owl” by V. Bianchi, “Miscalculated” by S.V. Mikhalkov, “Ugly Christmas Tree”
by E. Permyak, etc. Based on hermeneutical and axiological research methods, the interaction and
interpenetration of national and individual author’s worldviews is considered. The artistic world of
Chedzhemov is revealed in various aspects: genre synthesis, image system, stylistic features, author’s
position.
