Abstract: This article examines for the first time the issues that arise in creating a new dictionary of socio-political vocabulary in the Kabardino-Circassian language. The relevance of this topic is determined by the fact that the last dictionary of this kind was published over 40 years ago. During this time, significant changes have occurred in the socio-political life of our country, and indeed throughout the world. As a result, a large number of words of a socio-political nature have appeared in the vocabulary of the Kabardino-Circassian language. The purpose of this study is to develop a concept for a new dictionary of socio-political vocabulary in the Kabardino-Circassian language. In accordance with this goal, the article formulates the main principles for selecting lexical units for the dictionary: frequency and relevance of use, the presence of documented evidence, and consideration of the ideological and cultural characteristics of the lexemes. Through an analysis of existing socio-political dictionaries, the author argues that a distinctive feature of the new dictionary will be that all socio-political words will be illustrated with documented examples. The primary sources for the dictionary corpus will be newspapers, magazines, fiction, and printed and online dictionaries. The dictionary’s primary goal is to systematize and standardize socio-political vocabulary, which currently exhibits inconsistencies in spelling. The article employs a range of scientific methods, including observation, analysis and synthesis, comparative-historical, and contrastive methods. The study concludes that the new dictionary should be standardized, accessible and understandable, scholarly, contain adequate translations, and be practice-oriented.
