Abstract: The article considers the actual problem of bilingualism, justifies and identifies the reasons for
the appeal of national writers to creativity in russian. The study identified two genetically diverse
types of poetic bilingualism. The author considers one of them to be a natural continuation of the
traditions of russian-language literature, laid down in the 19th century by a number of adyghe
educators. The emphasis is placed on the fact that this type of russian-language kabardian poetry can
be attributed to the evolutionary movement of the national aesthetic consciousness of an integrative
nature. It is aimed at expanding the zone of frontier cultural representations, at creating mediator
expressive tools, and is implemented by the individual efforts of artists who have fully mastered
Russian poetry practices, but also fully identifying their own ethnicity. In the second type of russianlanguage
creativity of the circassians, the authors of the study sees compensatory tendencies that
arose as a response to the insufficiency of some forms of poetic reflection, which was especially clearly
manifested during a sharp change in the information environment of the entire space of the Soviet
Union in the second half of the 80-s of the last century.
