Abstract:
Despite the fact that grammatical terms do not play the most important role in the
mastery of the Russian language by Persian-speaking students, inaccurate or incorrect
translation of these terms from Russian into Persian has a negative impact on the learning
of the Russian language and slows down the learning process. The article discusses some
Russian grammatical terms, their translations into Persian and semantic discrepancies
between Russian terms and their equivalents in Persian. The relevance of the research topic
is associated with the growing interest in the Russian language among Persian-speaking
students and university teachers who encounter certain difficulties in teaching a foreign
language. Part of these difficulties are due to discrepancies between Russian grammatical
terms and their translations. The novelty of the article lies in the fact that for the first time
the discrepancies between Russian grammatical terms and their Persian translations are
considered. In terms of methodology, this study is descriptive. Analysis of inaccuracies in
the translation of grammatical terms from Russian into Persian is the goal of this study,
and therefore the following tasks are set: studying Russian grammar textbooks written
in Persian, and considering some grammatical terms in both languages, in particular
controversial ones, and identifying the accuracy and correctness of the translation of
Russian terms in Persian. The study revealed inaccuracies in the translation of such
Russian grammatical terms as “particle”, “interjection”, “addition”, “circumstance”, etc.
After considering the inconsistencies between grammatical terms in Russian with their
translations into Persian, a more adequate equivalent in Persian language.
