ACTIVITIES OF THE PARTY-SOVIET BODIES OF ORDZHONIKIDZE ON THE ORGANIZATION OF CULTURAL AND MASS WORK ON THE EVE AND DURING THE BATTLE FOR THE CAUCASUS (1941-1943)

Abstract:
A selection of documents is presented by the protocols of the party-Soviet bodies of Ordzhonikidze
(Vladikavkaz), which reflect the main directions of cultural and ideological work. In this context,
the problem has not been investigated to date. The documents allow us to consider the specifics
of the activities of government structures for the organization of the cultural and leisure sphere
and its ideological component. Some of the documents are devoted to the organization of political
events (October Revolution Day, Paris Commune Day, etc.). The materials of others allow us to
analyze the repertoire of local theaters, movie theater posters. Depending on the situation at the
front, the vectors of cultural and educational institutions changed. Some of them were evacuated to
Transcaucasia in the summer and autumn of 1942, and after returning to Ossetia they needed the
support and material assistance of the state. The submitted documents can become the basis for the
formulation of the problem and its implementation.
