Abstract:
The article examines the impact of the development of the national economy of North Ossetia on the standard of living of citizens of the republic in the 1950s, a period of significant transformations in the region. The main attention is paid to industry and agriculture, which faced multiple challenges in improving the material well-being of citizens. Despite the difficulties, with the help of state support and assistance from industrial enterprises, the agricultural sector was able not only to recover from the devastation of war, but also to significantly increase its production capacity. The article analyzes the periods of the fifth and sixth five-year plans, when there was an active reconstruction and construction of new industrial facilities, which contributed to the expansion of production capacity and an increase in industrial output. It is noted that industrial production became the leading sector of the republic’s economy; attention is paid to the development of new industries, including mechanical engineering. In parallel, there was a significant consolidation of collective farms and an increase in the efficiency of agricultural production. The article emphasizes that the interaction of industrial and agricultural sectors, supported by government invest ment and policy, contributed to overall growth and improvement of the standard of living of the population in North Ossetia.
